The following language may help you and your legal advisor when including a gift in your Will.
“I give to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, 610 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, Charitable Registration #: 88900 7597 RR0001, the [sum amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] to be used for the benefit of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.”
If you wish to designate your gift to a specific area of the cancer centre, please contact us to ensure your Will includes the appropriate wording that reflects your intentions. We also suggest that you include a Power to Vary clause in your Will, for example:
“If at the time of my death it is impossible, impractical or inadvisable to apply the gift to this purpose, the Foundation may at their discretion direct the gift to a similar purpose.”
Please note: The policies of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation do not allow The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or its representatives to serve as personal representative, executor, trustee, or witness for a Will.
